National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at the start of the year passed Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 05-12-2017, compelling Smart and Globe to extend the validity of all prepaid loads to one year. Today, the two telcos expressed their agreement and compliance with the said memorandum.
Starting today, July 5, 2018, both Smart and Globe prepaid loads, in all denominations, will now have one-year validity. Globe starting implementing this policy with their 300 pesos and above prepaid loads last January 6, but now they’re bringing it to the lower than 300 pesos denominations.
Smart, on the other hand, will also extend the load validity of their subnetworks Sun and TNT. This includes all load denominations of Smart Prepaid, Smart Bro, TNT, Sun Prepaid, Sun Broadband Wireless Prepaid, Smart Link, Smart Marino, PLDT Prepaid Landline Plus and PLDT Home.
Like Globe, Smart also implemented this policy for their over 300 pesos and above loads back in January. So, today they’ll be adding in the lower than 300 pesos denominations.
